Characterization of Bacillus cereus Isolates from Local Dairy Products in Egypt
نویسندگان
چکیده
bacillus cereus is an important, opportunistic, foodborne pathogen found in various dairy products. In this study, the prevalence, physiological characteristics, antimicrobial resistance profile, and enterotoxigenic genes (ces hbla) of b. were investigated isolates from Egyptian A total 150 samples, including soft white cheese, milk powder, ultra-high temperature (UHT) (50 each), collected local stores EL-Gharbia governorate, Egypt April 2019 to October 2019. Of these, 29 samples contaminated with (an overall prevalence 19.3%). Based on cultural, morphological, biochemical 48 detected 27 (56.25%) 9 (18.75%) 12 (25%) UHT milk. Antibiotic susceptibility assessment showed that all exhibited high sensitivity amikacin, doxycyclin, gentamycin, ciprofloxacin, while significant kanamycin, clindamycin, nalidixic acid, cephalothin, sulphamethoxazole was also observed. All examined for presence emetic (ces) diarrheal (hbla) using PCR method; ces isolates, hbla 14 (29.2%) 22 (45.8%) did not harbor either gene. These findings indicate need application adequate preventive measures personnel hygiene processing lines minimize load final

Incidence and characterization of Bacillus cereus isolates contaminating dairy products.
A total of 293 dairy products purchased from local markets were examined to determine the incidence of and characterize Bacillus cereus. Isolations were made on mannitol-egg yolk-polymyxin B agar medium and confirmed by several staining and biochemical tests. B. cereus occurred in 17% of fermented milks, 52% of ice creams, 35% of soft ice creams, 2% of pasteurized milks and pasteurized fruit- o...

Among 200 selected dairy samples 50 each of pasteurized milk, cream, butter and paneer were analyzed for the presence of Bacillus cereus the paneer samples were found to have the highest incidence of Bacillus cereus (52.94%) followed by cream sample (29.41%) and pasteurized milk sample (17.64%) however none of the butter samples were found to be contaminated with Bacillus cereus. These isolates...
متن کاملPrevalence and antimicrobial resistance of Bacillus cereus isolated from beef products in Egypt
Foodborne pathogens have the main concern in public health and food safety. Bacillus cereus food poisoning is one of the most important foodborne pathogens worldwide. In the present study, a total of 200 random beef product samples were collected from different supermarkets located at Menofia and Cairo governorates were examined for the presence of B. cereus. In addition, the presence of some v...
متن کاملDetection of Toxigenic Strains of Bacillus Cereus in Milk and Dairy Products through Polymerase Chain Reaction
Fifty nine samples of raw milk, 60 samples of pasteurized milk, 24 cream, 39 butter, 27 curd, 19 peda, 21 paneer and 20 skim milk powder samples were analyzed for the presence of different Bacillus species and a total of 182 isolates were obtained. The isolates were identified as Bacillus subtilis (51), Bacillus megaterium (39), Bacillus cereus (28), Bacillus licheniformis (32), Bacillus coagul...
متن کاملRapid Pyrosequencing and Fatty Acid Analysis for Characterization of Bacillus cereus Isolates from Food
In this study rapid pyrosequencing was used for identification and fatty acid analysis of enterotoxic and non-enterotoxic Bacillus cereus. Presumptive B. cereus strains were isolated from ready-to-eat foods on mannitol-egg yolk-polymyxin agar and the identification was made based on the characteristics of B. cereus sp. Pyrosequencing was carried out on amplicons derived from 3 different 16S gen...
